Ann Arbor SPARK established the Michigan Life Science Innovation Center (MLSIC) in 2008, the region's first collaborative life sciences incubator. Since its opening, MLSIC has incubated 15 companies, which have created 92 jobs and attracted more than $75 million in investment in southeast Michigan.

November, 2012, Ann Arbor SPARK transferred ownership of the Michigan Life Science and Innovation Center to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and laid a solid foundation for the MEDC to follow as it assumes ownership of the facility. MEDC will continue to support life science companies through business acceleration and attraction.

Ann Arbor SPARK's focus is on its regional incubator network and opportunities to collaborate with other private incubators within Washtenaw County, as well as with the University of Michigan's Venture Accelerator. Ann Arbor SPARK strongly supports efforts to support life science and biotech companies in the region and will continue to offer programs with the state and other partners, including U-M and MichBio, that support entrepreneurs.
