President Obama Genomics And Connectomics Brain Activity Map Project The American Job Game Changer

Barrons Medical Journal Reporting From The Houston Live Stock And Rodeo Event at Reliant Park Houston, Texas USA
President Obama Genomics And Connectomics Brain Activity Map Project The American Job Game Changer
Houston, Texas ( AP) -- Barrons Medical Journal was excited when 2003.President Clinton and Tony Blair Announced Brought To You By Orange Shoe Personal Fitness Video: that they were together starting " The Human Genome Project ". Ten years later President Obama is now going to fund "The Brain Activity Map Project ". The Brain Activity Map Project and the Challenge of Functional Connectomics:

Barrons Medical Journal asked The CEO of Gennxeix Biotech Inc Rose Conrad A Houston Based Biotech company to explain to us what is all the excitement all about.

Brought To you buy Micci Marmalade Conrad said lets start by imaging. that your goal is to discover how a brain works. A map of brain connections would be helpful for interpreting measurements of the signals transmitted between neurons. In the human brain, these signals travel in a complex network of 100 billion or so neurons, each of which is connected to 10,000 others

The function of neural circuits is an emergent property arising from the coordinated activity of large numbers of neurons. To capture this, we propose launching a large-scale, international public effort, the Brain Activity Map Project, aimed at reconstructing the full record of neural activity across complete neural circuits.

Conrad said that\ in 1953 James Watson and Francis Crick proposed the double helix structure for DNA. The double helix consists of a long chain of repeated units called nucleotides, of which there are four types: A, C, G, and T. Hereditary information is written in DNA using this alphabet of four letters. In the human genome, the sequence of nucleotides is about one billion letters long. The reading of this sequence was finally completed by the Human Genome Project in 2003.

Barrons Medical Journal spoke with Francis Collins The CEO of The National Institutes of Health.Collins said that, the scientists at NIH and private foundations like the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Chevy Chase, Md., and the Allen Institute for Brain Science in Seattle will all be participating in the project .

First, connectomics will help reveal how the brain stores and retrieves information about the past. Neuroscientists believe that memories are stored in the connections between neurons. According to this theory, connections change when a new memory is stored. That such changes can happen is not in doubt. Neuroscientists have found that new synapses can be created and that the strengths of existing synapses can be altered. What remains uncertain is whether these changes are indeed the basis of memory.

Although the connection theory of memory is widely believed, it has been difficult to test experimentally. One barrier has been the lack of good techniques for measuring whether two neurons are connected, and if so, how strongly. One important task of connectomics will be to determine the connectivity of brain areas that are involved in memory storage. Brought To You By Orange shoe Person Fitness:

Take, for example, sequential memory, such as the notes of a piece played on the piano. A pianist is able to store such sequences in memory and recall them at will. Recently, sequential memory has been studied by neuroscientists in the brain of the zebra finch. This bird learns a single, highly repetitive song as a juvenile and sings it repeatedly as an adult. The avian brain area called HVC appears to be important for a bird’s memory of its song. Creating a lesion in the HVC in adult birds causes a loss of song. Furthermore, electrical recordings of “projection” neurons in the HVC, which send long branches (axons) to downstream brain areas, have revealed a precisely timed, repeated sequence of neural activations while the bird sings this song. The zebra finch song consists of repetitions of a single motif, which is about one second long. During a song motif, each projection neuron in the HVC is activated exactly once, for just a few milliseconds. For every repetition of a motif, the projection neurons are activated in the same sequence. The projection neurons of the HVC activate other neurons in an area called RA, which in turn activate the motor neurons that control the syrinx, the avian vocal organ. Therefore the sequential activation of HVC neurons is believed to be directly responsible for the sequence of movements that produces birdsong.

President Obama said in the State Of The Union Address For “Every dollar we invested to map the human genome returned $140 to our economy — every dollar,” he said. “Today our scientists are mapping the human brain to unlock the answers to Alzheimer’s. They’re developing drugs to regenerate damaged organs, devising new materials to make batteries 10 times more powerful. Now is not the time to gut these job-creating investments in science and innovation.”

A meeting held on Jan. 17 at the California Institute of Technology was attended by the three government agencies, as well as neuroscientists, nanoscientists and representatives from Google, Microsoft and Qualcomm. According to a summary of the meeting, it was held to determine whether computing facilities existed to capture and analyze the vast amounts of data that would come from the project. The scientists and technologists concluded that they did.

The U.S. Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, recently developed a publicly accessible Internet-based collection of data which identifies a region in the brain where thousands of gene-regulating elements necessary for cognition, motor functions are emotions are found.

Axel Visel, a geneticist with Berkeley Lab's Genomics Division who worked on the latter project, referred to it as "a genome-wide digital atlas of gene enhancers in the human brain."

Organizations behind the project include the Office of Science and Technology Policy, The National Institutes of Health, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the National Science Foundation, as well as several private foundations the president will allot a total of at least $3 billion over the next 10 years.

Barron Medical Journal is advising The State Of Texas To reinstate the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas. Texas can play important role in The Brain Activity Map Project and create millions of jobs for Texans.

Texas House and Senate budget bills provide no money for new grants by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, the target of multiple investigations following revelations of procedural problems and conflicts of interest related to multimillion-dollar grants it has awarded.

Encourage your Texas elected official to be a part of this wonder new project that is going to extend and save patients live over the next 50 years

Breast Cancer Chemotherapy Patients Need Their Friends And Family To Help With Fitness and Skin Care

Barron's Medical Journal Reporting From George R Brown Convention Center National Basketball Association All-Star Game Houston, Texas And Rice University Houston, Texas USA
Breast Cancer Chemotherapy Patients Needs Their Friends And Family Help With Fitness and Skin Care

Houston, Texas ( AP ) Barron's Medical Journal Robert Graham Ph.D. Ask GenNXeix Biotech CEO Rose Conrad Ph.D. to talk about Fitness & Skin Care. Rose indicated that Physical activity may protect against breast cancer. Few prospective studies have evaluated breast cancer mortality in relation to cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), an objective marker of physiologic response to physical activity habits. The association between CRF and risk of death from breast cancer in the Aerobics Center Longitudinal Study. Women (N = 14,811), aged 20 to 83 yr with no prior breast cancer history. maximal treadmill exercise test duration and was categorized for analysis as low (lowest 20% of exercise duration), moderate (middle 40%), and high (upper 40%). At baseline, all participants were able to complete the exercise test to at least 85% of their age-predicted maximal heart rate. This is a indication that Fitness is important to breast cancer patients.

Skin Care for women with breast cancer is a major concern for breast cancer patients and their loves ones. Women that have to under go chemotherapy and radiation therapy skin care have improved over the years. Genomic science allows Researcher and Physicians to look at each breast cancer patient and recommend a treatment strategy to maintain skin management. Lets discus the different types of breast cancer. Breast cancer is a disease that occurs when malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. There are three main types of invasive breast cancer (cancer that has spread beyond the layer of tissue in which it developed and is growing into surrounding, healthy tissues).

Invasive ductal carcinoma: Begins in the ducts that carry breast milk and is the most common type of breast cancer (8 in 10 women with breast cancer have this type)

Invasive lobular carcinoma: Begins in the glands that make breast milk and is less common than invasive ductal carcinoma (1 in 10 women with breast cancer have this type)

Inflammatory breast cancer: Found in the lymphatic system of the skin of the breast and is an uncommon type of breast cancer (1 percent to 3 percent of all breast cancer diagnoses are inflammatory breast cancer)

In advanced cases, breast cancer cells may spread (metastasize) to other parts of the body via the blood stream or lymph system.

Scientist say breast cancer chemotherapy treatment can cause your skin, hair, and nails to become brittle, dry, and sensitive. Cell turnover is diminished or halted all together during chemo treatments, meaning that the current cells of your skin may not be getting renewed like normal. This means that you need to treat your skin with care. The vitality of your skin, hair, and nails is going through the same struggles as the rest of your body. 1. Moisturizing your skin immediately after washing and toweling dry.

For your body, this means applying moisturizer after the bath or shower.

For your face, this usually means applying moisturizer in the morning and at night.

For your hands, this means moisturizing after washing many times during the day.

For your lips, this means using a hydrating lip balm throughout the day. 2. Cleansing your skin with gentle cleansing products only. Apply them only where you need them and be sure to rinse them off thoroughly with warm water.

For your body, this means you typically only need to soap up the parts of your skin that have the body odor glands (apocrine glands) including your armpits, groin, buttocks, and feet. If you still have oily skin when you are on chemo, you’ll also need to use cleanser on the oily areas of your back, neck, and chest too. For your face, this means using the mildest cleanser that gets off your makeup and products, but that isn’t so harsh as to dry out your skin. Don’t shoot for that tight “squeaky clean” feeling after washing because it means that you removed too much of your natural oils and actually irritated your skin.

For your hands, this means using cleanser only on your palms most of the time. Skin on the back of your hand rarely gets into germs and grime, and it’s fragile and prone to dryness. Also, the space between your fingers and under your rings trap cleanser, so be careful to rinse all the cleanser off well; retained cleanser will irritate and “burn” your skin, worsening some of the hand-skin problems that occur during chemo.

Barrons Medical Journal has researched several different treatment options for breast cancer patients and their is a product that seem to produced the best results in the shortest period of time. Nerium oleander provides a unique properties that produce a age-defying results when applied to the skin. This finding led to the creation of the NeriumAD skincare line.

Conrad says that Nerium is great for breast cancer patients skin: Nerium contains NBio-PL2. NBio-PL2 is use to extract from the Nerium oleander plant in a way that preserves its unique and beneficial properties. This patent-pending extraction process yields the NAE-8 extract used to formulate this first-of-its-kind age-defying product line.

Oleanders are a flowering shrub that thrives with little care. Oleanders grow best in full sun and are heat and drought tolerant. Oleanders also thrive in different soil types as long as it has good drainage. The Oleander plant grows especially well in seaside coastal gardens, tolerating salt spray and wind. Oleanders flower from early summer until mid-autumn. Colors range from white through yellow, peach, salmon and pink to deep burgundy red.

Thought to be the Biblical Rose of Jericho, Nerium oleander has been mentioned by ancient texts and folklore. Used traditionally by herbalists as a folk remedy for a wide variety of maladies and conditions, including dermatitis, abscesses, eczema, psoriasis, sores, warts, corns, ringworm, scabies, herpes, skin cancer, sunburn, acne, cold sores, age spots, asthma, epilepsy, malaria, emetics, heart tonics, and tumors. Macerated leaves of oleander have been applied topically for treatment dermatitis, loss of hair, superficial tumors and syphilis. Promising uses include congestive heart failure and cancer. Records of the medicinal use of oleander date back to ancient time. Mesopotamians in the 15th century BC believed in the healing properties of oleander and the ancient Babylonians and later the Roman soldiers used a mixture of oleander and licorice to treat hangovers. Arab physicians used oleander as a cancer treatment in the 8th century AD.

Stem Cells Use To Treat Breast Cancer Firm Relocating To Mexico

Barron's Medical Journal: Reporting From The National Basketball Association (NBA) " All Start Game" Location: Houston Texas, Rice University Biotech Research Center.
Stem Cells Use To Treat Breast Cancer Firm Relocating To Mexico
World Cancer Day: President Obama Administration ( FDA ) And Texas Governor Rick Perry Must Come Together For A Breast Cancer Cure.

Houston, TX ( AP ) World Cancer Day: Stem Cells Use To Treat Breast Cancer Firm Relocating To Mexico. Last Week Celltex Therapeutics Corporation of Houston Texas announced they are opening a Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine Lab in Mexico. Barron's Medical Journal is concerned by this move, reason Genomics Science and Stem Cells is

inspiring Scientist and Doctors around the world to come with a cure for breast cancer. Here is some background: Breast cancer stem cells Scientist identifies stem cells as part of solid tumors - stem cells are responsible for the growth and spread of breast cancer. Breast Cancer stem cells must be destroyed, to avoid tumors from reoccurring and spreading malignant breast cancer cells to other parts of a patients body, this process is called metastasis.

Breast Cancer stem cells are resistant to traditional chemotherapy and radiation, treatments that is targeted directly at tumor deadly cells. Scientists studying breast cancer stem cells to learn more about them and to

determine the type of therapy most likely to destroy the cells benefit the most from stem cell. Clinical studies are so important to a cure. Breast cancers contain a heterogeneous population of cells with a small percentage that possess properties similar to those found in stem cells. One of the widely accepted markers of breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) is the cell surface marker CD44. As a glycoprotein, CD44 is involved in many cellular processes including cell adhesion, migration and proliferation, making it pro-oncogenic by nature. CD44 expression is highly up-regulated in BCSCs, and has been implicated in tumorigenesis and metastasis. Conventional therapies for advanced breast cancer are limited because they target the wrong cells. These therapies were designed to shrink cancers by killing all the cells in a tumor. Therapies is more effective, and cause fewer side effects, if they were aimed specifically at a small group of cells within the tumor called cancer stem cells.

For Cancer Stem Cells there are 3 basic types of transplants. They are named based on where the stem cells come from. Autologous (aw-tahl-uh-gus)—the cells come from you Allogeneic (al-o-jen-NEE-ick or al-o-jen-NAY-ick)—the cells come from a matched related or unrelated donor Syngeneic (sin-jen-NEE-ick or sin-jen-NAY-ick)—the cells come from your identical twin or triplet.

High dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell transplant exposes the patient to very high risks of side effects from

the chemotherapy. This treatment uses very high doses of chemotherapy in an attempt to kill all the cancer cells. The bone marrow is not able to tolerate such high doses of chemotherapy, hence bone marrow stem cells from the patient is collected prior to chemotherapy to give back to the patient once high dose chemotherapy is completed. This taking of bone marrow stem cells and giving it back to the patient is again called autologous bone marrow transplant All breast cancer stem cells have a surface protein marker called CD44, along with very low levels or no levels of two markers called CD24 Using specialized equipment and techniques, scientists can separate cells with this combination of protein markers from millions of other cells in a tumor sample.scientist also have identified a protein called ALDH, which is produced by cancer stem cells and can be detected in biopsies of patient tumors. Both genetic and non-genetic factors -- including age, radiation exposure, menstrual history and number of pregnancies -- are involved in the development of breast cancer. Mutations in genes called HER2 and PTEN triggered rapid cell division and self-renewal in breast cancer stem cells. This caused the stem cells to develop abnormally and invade surrounding breast tissue. When the scientists treated the cells with drugs known to inhibit activity of these genes, the number of cancer stem cells dropped dramatically. In a study with mice,
scientists identified a receptor molecule on the surface of breast cancer stem cells and found that it triggered abnormal cell growth in response to tissue inflammation and damage caused by chemotherapy. When this receptor was blocked, the breast cancer stem cells died, preventing the cancer from spreading. Scientists discovered that progenitor cells in bone marrow called mesenchymal stem cells are involved in the development of breast cancer. The researchers found that breast tumors in mice sent out signals that caused mesenchymal stem cells to move from bone to the tumor. Once in the tumor, they stimulated cancer stem cells to divide and spread. A dietary component called sulforaphane, found in broccoli, killed breast cancer stem cells and prevented new tumors from growing in laboratory mice. Its ability to target cancer stem cells could explain sulforaphane's effectiveness in breast cancer prevention. Scientists found that curcumin, a component derived from the Indian spice turmeric, and piperine, derived from black peppers, decreased the number of stem cells in breast cells grown in a laboratory dish. The components had no effect on normal differentiated cells.

Stem Cells also can actually grow your own bigger breasts. Your own fat and stem cells are used, and there is no need for the introduction of any foreign or artificial materials into your body. Bonus: You get a flatter tummy (or thinner thighs, as the case may be) as a result of the liposuction portion of the procedure.

Houston based Gennxeix Biotech model for detecting breast cancer using their 21 Gene cocktail of genes like P53, P63 and Her-1 to name a few, allows scientist and Doctors to do real–time analysis of a patients breast cancer tumor Perform surgery to remove the tumor and replace to the cell with a stem cell from another part of your body. Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in United States women, accounting for >40,000 deaths each year. These breast

tumors are comprised of phenotypically diverse populations of breast cancer cells. Using a model in which human breast cancer cells were grown in immunocompromised mice,we found that only a minority of breast cancer cells had the ability to form new tumors. We were able to distinguish the tumorigenic (tumor initiating) from the nontumorigenic cancer cells based on cell surface marker expression Gennxeix Biotech Breast Cancer Researchers and Scientist are ahead of the curve with technologies based on Nanoparticles and Semi Conductors Namely Genomics and treatments.
